On June 9th, 60 teens converged on our new garden space to represent the impact of youth and service learning.
That morning we worked in the field: spreading compost, learning about and putting on soil amendments, and tilling. As a group we painted a mural and vegetable signs to adorn each of our beds for quick identification. We also went on a garden tour to see all that we have growing, the chickens and the bees.
It was a fun day, filled with laughter, hard work and care for our community.
If you have a large group that would like to spend a day in the garden please contact our Program Coordinator at (541) 249-4942 ext. 101
Thank you to everyone involved especially the teens from North Eugene High and United Way!
